We welcome three new members to the FKG

We welcome two additional institutes and an engineering and consulting firm as new members of the FKG:
The Institute for Structural Analysis and Design at ETH Zurich (Prof. Dr. Andreas Taras and Dr. Vlad Silvestru), the Institut für Fenstertechnik e.V. (Institute for Window Technology), Rosenheim, and Andreas Schipper, Hamburg, a specialist in glazing for large ocean-going yachts.

Welcome!

Presentation of the award-winning entries in the FKG 2025 Student Competition

Here are the three award-winning entries in our 2025 FKG Student Competition – Transparent Skin.
All of the entries impress with their holistic design concept and thorough attention to structural detail.

1st prize
2nd prize
3rd prize

Congratulations to:
1st prize: Erik Pagenkopf, Jana Schnabel, Kim Lea Märker, Valentin Albert
2nd prize: Alexander Schindler, Laura Schreiber, Jan Uhrbrock
3rd prize: Adnan Bakdash, Alexander Berger, Henri Stephane Wendkuuni Sebgo, Mohamed Barbour

Coincidentally, all three prize winners come from Hafen City University in Hamburg (HCU).
The seminar on structural glass construction held there and the intensive support provided by Prof. Frank Wellershoff were very successful.

Unfortunately, a special prize for sustainability could not be awarded, as the topic was not consistently addressed in any of the entries.

Note: Information and names of the authors were added retrospectively. The jury had originally evaluated anonymous submissions.
